Arrive Praia, Santiago Island, early morning. Fly to Fogo Island. Drive from airport then walk to Cha das Caldeiras (5.2km , ascent 273m, descent 328m). Guesthouse in Cha das Caldeiras.

Pico do Fogo (9.0km, ascent 1129m, descent 1123m, max 2829m).

Walk from Cha das Caldeiras though the forest of Monte Velha (11.7km, ascent 19m, descent 1367m). Hotel in Sao Felipe.

Additional day in Sao Felipe due to internal flight changes. Morning walk (5.6km, ascent 43m, descent 583m).

Late afternoon flight to Praia. Overnight hotel on the ourtskirts of Praia due to Sao Vicente flight cancellation.

Flight to Sal (twice, first aborted mid-way due to technical issue). Quick look around Santa Maria (no thanks to Cabo Verde airlines, who would have been happy for us to spend the entire day in airports). Flight to Sao Vicente. Hotel in Mindelo.

Ferry to Santo Antao. Balcony walk (11.8km, ascent 733m, descent 1047m). Guesthouse in Curral das Vacas.

Drive to Cova Crater. Drive to start of walk. Walk (5.9km, ascent 80m, descent 771m). Guesthouse in Ponta do Sol.

Coastal walk (14.6km, ascent 750m, descent 781m). Guesthouse in Paul.

Walk in the Ribeira da Torre valley (7.7km, ascent 685m, descent 669m).

Walk in Val de Paul (4.9km, ascent 273m, descent 473m). Ferry to Sao Vincente. Hotel in Mindelo.
